Last Monday (12th July, 2010) I bought a beautiful dynamic phrase synthesizer / loop recorder!!! I'm really enjoying the great sounds & loops that produces this little device. Yesterday, my brother & I played-recorded for three hours. Today we're going to do another session!!!

Also I'm very happy because I've been hanging out with my dear & loved Damaris: I love you baby!!!

Finally it's online the official website of a young Mexican painter: Alejandro Carrillo... I did the web design & code.

Stay strong & peace!!!

Hola!!! It's been a while since I posted my latest entry... Well, a lot had happened. Next year I'll do my best to start a new life in Canada. In the meantime I'll be totally focus creating artworks, taking photographs & making music. A lot I've learned this last two years but I think I've to learn from everyone & myself a lot more... life is rough & the same time beautiful.

Finally I've just finished my latest visual project, an A1 poster, called "Aldebaran" which is an attempt to represent what I've been through these last days of my existence. Software used: Adobe® Photoshop® Extended CS5 + Adobe® Illustrator® CS5 at 300dpi. Hope you all like it!

Peace & much love :D

Hello everybody!!! Hope you're doing well!!! Last Thursday 6th May, 2010 I received my Adobe® Creative Suite® 5 Web Premium Upgrade & until yesterday I could installed it since I've been pretty busy!!! Man this upgrade worth every penny I spend on it!!!

Last Thursday too I finished the art direction, design & illustrations-photographs for the upcoming debut album of Remi Álvarez & Pere Soto | Remisotopos | © 2010 Discos Intolerancia. This album we'll be available soon. I let you know ;)

Finally but not least, my brother Carlos & I we're creating fine & vibrant music once again!!!!!! So far we have three weeks doing very pleasant rehearsals & we even composed our first track... beware of the audio-wolf jajajajaja ;)

24 April, 2010

First of all I want to thank God for all the blessings upon me & for letting me live another year!!! Tomorrow I'm older but a happier human being!!!!!!!!

Last 12 April, 2010 I pre-ordered the latest version (CS5) of the Adobe® Creative Suite® Web Premium & it's expected to arrive soon!!!

Also last Monday (18th April, 2010), I began a new musical journey... I bought a synthesizer, amplifier & a keyboard stand to create music!!!!!!! I'm so happy because I haven't create music since the end of the 90's. This time I'm not going to play drums rather I choose to play a synthesizer & create soundscapes with my computer & I'll be saving for a sampling machine!!! So far I did three rehearsals with my brother this week & we felt very comfortable & happy about it. Next week we'll be joined with a great friend & drummer Gabriel Lauber.

Finally after one year & almost six months of different kind of struggles & the difficulty to produce free improvisational music in Ciudad de México, I present you proudly the release of Remi Álvarez & Mark Dresser debut album called Soul to Soul. The recording session took place on 4th November, 2008 at Sala Xochipilli, E.N.M., Ciudad de México. The production was handled by Remi Álvarez & Mark Dresser. The executive production was possible with a huge effort by Remi Álvarez. The recording of the session, mix & mastering was done by Daniel Goldaracena. The liner notes were done by Steve Dalachinsky. The distribution is going to be delivered by Discos Intolerancia & the art direction, design & illustrations were done by truly yours :D

I really want to thank to Remi Álvarez for believing & trusting me the art direction, design & illustrations of this brilliant album & also by letting me participate in the whole process of this beautiful project not only in the visual aspect!!!!!!!!!! Thanks my friend!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

10 April, 2010

Last Sunday (4th April, 2010) I finished my latest visual project called "Life in a Jar" & it's my submission for the UU Theory Design Challenge!!!

Some weeks ago I was checking some posts on my Facebook profile & I found out that Sequenza 21 - The Contemporary Classical Music Community post in their Naxos Blog a photo I took some years ago to my dear friend Denman Maroney & that it's been published by Downbeat Magazine May, 2009 Issue... The thing is that they didn't put my credit on... this practice over the Internet it's pretty common & I'm a bit mad about this!!!!! But then again I think doesn't matter at all. I'm glad to see my work over there even they don't recognize the source & the author ;)

Almost one month ago (12th March, 2010) I finished the website of Saúl Fernando, a Mexican contemporary & classical guitar player. Soon it will be online. Also I'm half way to finish the website of a young Mexican contemporary painter called Alejandro Carrillo.

Finally there is been a delay on the offcial release of Remi Álvarez & Mark Dresser debut album Soul to Soul but I guess in some weeks I'll be posting some photos of this fantastic project I collaborated with the design & illustrations :D

19 March, 2010

Yesterday I went to the concert of Charles Gayle Trio at Teatro de la Ciudad organized by Radar in it's ninth edition!!! Man, it's one of the greatest jazz gigs I ever been!!! The creative, inspiring, powerful & beautiful music that creates Charles Gayle (71 years old) is without no doubt unique!!! He's shy & humble yet very talented & self-centered human being!!! I really enjoy his music!!! Michael Wimberly & Larry Roland were awesome on their own instruments too ;)

Today I finished a new visual project called "Pixelpaint" and it's been done with a digital technique I've never work with. This series consist in three small digital paintings (7.0" x 5.0"). Software used: Adobe® Photoshop® Extended CS4 + Adobe® Illustrator® CS4 at 300dpi. I'll be exploring-experimenting more with this technique & creating more new sinographs.

By the way I'll be working soon on the artwork of the debut album of an interesting new duo: Remi Álvarez & Pere Soto. Also before this month ends we are going to have in our hands the album of Remi Álvarez & Mark Dresser. This album is called "Soul to Soul" & it was produced by Remi Álvarez. The distribution of the album is going to be handled by Discos Intolerancia. The liner notes were written by Steve Dalachinsky. Recorded, mixed & mastered by Daniel Goldaracena & the artwork-design by me ;)

11 March, 2010

Bonjour!!! Finally I managed to do a new personal project!!!!!!! This project is a series of A1 posters called "New Sinograph Series" & it's an attempt to create new sinographs and/or characters & experiment with a technique I didn't explore to much since I create it. Software used: Adobe® Photoshop® Extended CS4 + Adobe® Illustrator® CS4 at 300dpi. Anyway hope you like or dislike it jajajajaja ;)

Since February I've been very busy working in a web project of Sául Fernando, a Mexican contemporary & classical guitar player. I let you know when his website it's ready so you can check it out ;)

Tomorrow (12th March, 2010), I'm going with Remi Álvarez to check out the proof prints of the Mexican company responsible to manufacture & duplicate the upcoming debut album of Remi Álvarez & Mark Dresser Duo. We're very excited about it!!!

Last but not least, I got my ticket for the show of Boredoms, KK Null & Fat Mariachi at the Lunario (20th March, 2010) which is part of Radar 9. See you there!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
